Khatri International Inc. performed the structural design for the wine rack in Eddie V’s San Diego Restaurant. This structure is like a mini-building inside the restaurant because its approximately 2 stories tall (2ft) and is designed on a post tensioned foundation system with soil anchors into the ground, independent of the building foundation.
Few people know that the wine rack is designed for earthquake just like an independent structure inside of the restaurant which entailed a finite element is, lateral design, and foundation anchorage.
